HUM-PROT MATE forms a continuous film on the surface of the material, avoiding the passage of water vapour, but allowing it to penetrate into the substrate where, by polymerisation processes, a water repellency effect is induced, virtually unaltered by the vapour transmission coefficient of the material and allowing what is widely known as substrate respiration.

Due to the structural composition of the resin, HUM-PROT MATE has good alkali resistance, which allows strong water repellent treatment in material with alkaline properties.

The colourless appearance of HUM-PROT MATE allows treatments which do not in principle alter or affect the original colour of the treated material; however, in all cases it is recommended that preliminary tests be carried out, given the huge variety of materials that can be hydrofuged with HUM-PROT MATE.

The water-repellent effect of surfaces treated with HUM-PROT MATE is characterized by the presence of a noticeable pearl effect (droplet formation) several hours after treatment. The action of its water-repellent properties is not complete until about 48 h after application. 

HUM-PROT MATE should always be used as supplied. It may not be dissolved or mixed with other products. Materials to be treated with HUM-PROT MATE  трябва да са напълно сухи, перфектно почистени и да не съдържат някакъв свободен или остатъчен материал. The application of HUM-PROT MATE should be carried out by soaking to saturation of the surfaces, which can be done by spraying, brushing or soft bristle brushes. In the case of multiple coatings (where highly absorbent materials are present), provision should be made for the need for wet-on-wet application, which means the second coating should be applied just after the first has been completed, allowing no more time between coatings than is strictly necessary.

Do not apply in summer on surfaces that are directly exposed to the sun, or when the temperature is higher than 30-35⁰С.

Where there are residues in the containers after application of the products, they should be kept tightly closed as the humidity and carbon dioxide are sufficient to activate the polymerisation process, which is an irreversible process and leads to the products being unsuitable.

The cost of applying HUM-PROT MATE strongly depends on the absorptivity of the material and, consequently, the cost of obtaining substrate saturation varies strongly between material types. Just as a guide, we can indicate a cost of 3-6 m²/l. 

HUM-PROT MATE has been specially developed for water repellent treatment of most materials used for the construction of external walls in building works, industrial buildings, etc.

HUM-PROT MATE is packed in disposable metal containers of 25, 50, 100 and 200 litres.
