PREMHOR has excellent performance and long-lasting mechanical resistance, which is extremely important when carrying out repairs on concrete. Used for:

Surface preparation

Preparation prior to application of concrete repair mortar and waterproofing solution for the holder.

The surface must be hard (with a tensile strength of more than 1 N/mm2) and clean, free from grease, oil, paint, residue, mortar, loose material, sand, dust or any other contaminant. We recommend that the surface be properly prepared, preferably by mechanical means (sandblasting, intensive brushing, etc.). Surfaces that are very smooth and/or slightly porous should be treated in the same way, preferably mechanically, so that they become sufficiently rough and porous. When repairing imperfections and patches, the surface should be cleaned beforehand and any loose material removed, if necessary using a chisel prepare the edges of the area to be treated to be beveled and vertical.

When repairing cracks , open them accordingly along their width, length and depth so as to obtain vertical cuts. Leave cross sections and wash the area to be repaired with water.

When repairing concrete surfaces that have suffered surface damage, brush them intensively with a wire brush until the surface is stable and free of any fragments. Then wash the area with water. If you need to repair concrete areas where reinforcement is visible, sandblast them and then apply TECMA PAINT OXto protect the fittings.

Soak highly absorbent surfaces with water - avoiding mixing - and then wait until the surface takes on a matt appearance before applying the product.

Construction Solution for Adhesion

Before applying PREMHOR we recommend to apply a mortar for adhesion obtained from PREMHOR and approximately 30% of water. Use a brush to apply it to the entire surface to be repaired and note that you must apply PREMHOR to the surface while the mortar is still dry - you have approximately 10 min.

Instructions

PREMHOR should be mixed with clean water and stirred until it becomes a homogeneous, lump-free paste. We recommend mixing one bag with PREMHOR  with 4,00 - 4,50 l of water, which is every 5,50 - 6,00 kg PREMHOR   1 l water. Do not add more water than recommended.

Once the mixture is ready, apply the product immediately. Once you have prepared the mixture, it should not be more than 20 min. before you apply it.

To make sure the adhesion mortar stays fresh, do not mix any more PREMHORthan can be used within the durability after mixing the paste.

Application

The paste obtained from PREMHOR  and water should be applied to sections that need repair. Use a trowel to fill voids, blemishes, patches, cracks, etc. Once you have spread the paste, wet the trowel and use it to smooth.

You should not try to apply a layer of PREMHOR exceeding 2 cm each time. Apply several coats if you need a thicker layer.

Once you have applied PREMHOR make sure it is kept wet by spraying it with water over the next 8 h.

Special Applications

To strengthen and increase adhesion to certain surfaces, PREMHOR may be mixed with a solution of two parts water and one part CRYLADIT. For a bag of PREMHOR will need approximately 3.00 l of water and 1.50 l CRYLADIT. First of all, mix the water with CRYLADIT and then add this mixture to PREMHOR. You can also use this mixture of water and CRYLADIT in the mortar for adhesion.

Where the high degree of adhesion is due to the special nature of the application (repairing surfaces subject to heavy and intense traffic or structural concrete, etc.), we recommend applying primer to the surface when it is completely dry - use products such as TECMA PAINT AD and then apply PREMHOR while the primer is still dry.

Special Recommendations

• To apply the product correctly, do not mix more PREMHORthan necessary. Pay attention to the suitability after mixing the paste and make sure that the mortar for adhesion is fresh.
• Do not add any material to the product other than those specifically required for the mixture.
• Do not apply when the temperature drops below 5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or frozen surfaces
• Moisten the surface before application PREMHOR
• Make sure that when you apply PREMHOR it is kept wet for the next 8 h, in particular in warm weather. Spray with TECMA-HMF to prevent dehydration.
• Do not apply a single coat that is thicker than 2 cm.
• Do not add more water to the mortar than the specified amount

PREMHOR is delivered in 25 kg. mesh paper bags. PREMHOR must be stored sealed in the original bags. The expected shelf life in the original bags should not exceed 12 months.
