How to properly prepare the surface when applying polyurethane waterproofing?

Surfaces must be dry and free of grease, oil, sand, dust or any other contaminant. Surfaces on which mould or mildew has formed should be cleaned with a suitable cleaner, rinsing thoroughly with water after 12 h. When repairing asphalt or bituminous membranes, we recommend removing overlapping edges to avoid sharp edges.

Imperfections and tears in the sheets must be corrected in advance. In the case of polyurethane foams, waterproofing coatings, asphalt coatings, there is no need for special care. It is sufficient to clean the surface before laying TECMA IMPERAL P-91. In case of cracks or working joints, it is necessary to first lay SATECMA ELASTIC PM33 or SATECMA ELASTIC S-600 by laying the waterproofing after the mastic has dried.

TECMA IMPERAL P-91 can be applied by brush, roller or airless gun. Application should be done evenly, covering the entire surface. At floor and wall joints, the coating should be lifted 25 cm.

Recommended layer thickness:

• As reflective coating : 0.3 kg/m2
• As waterproofing coating : 1 - 1.5 kg/m2

TECMA IMPERAL P-91 can be applied even when temperatures are as low as 00C and the relative humidity is between 30% and 98%, always keeping in mind that there is no condensation on the surface.

• Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces
• Do not cover with mortar, cement or concrete. TECMA IMPERAL P-91 should always be uncovered. Do not lay on surfaces to be paved.

The product is supplied in 10 and 25 kg. metal containers. Always store in tightly closed containers and at temperatures not exceeding +50⁰С.
