TECMADRY FLEX 2C is recommended in particular for:

• For waterproofing work on foundations with cracks or where weak movements are likely to occur (such as balconies and roof terraces), always reinforce with SATECMA BAND AS, FIBRA DE ARMAR 100 (for specific locations) and always work with caution to locations such as wall-to-floor connections, expansion joints, connections between different parts and elements of the building, etc.
• When there is an urgent need for emergency waterproofing of terraces and roofs on very wet substrates or when impending rainfall is forecast due to the inability to use other roof waterproofing materials that are sensitive to moisture in the substrate.
• In the protection and waterproofing of various works in urban construction such as : tunnels, irrigation canals, silos, beams and columns of bridges, dams, sewage treatment plants, etc.
• Waterproofing of water tanks, artificial lakes , swimming pools, fountains, high beds, etc.
• Waterproof and protect basements and foundations and gallery walls by always laying in the direction of water pressure.
• For waterproofing and protection of concrete structures against carbonation, aggressive environments (industrial, marine, etc.) freezing and thawing cycles, etc.
• For waterproofing bathrooms, changing rooms, kitchens and other wet rooms in buildings.

Surface preparation

The surface to which the product is to be applied shall be hard and free of any lubricant, oil, paint and/or residue of concrete release agents from formwork, liquid mortar, loose materials, sand, dust or any other contaminant. It is advisable to prepare the surface on which the product is to be applied by mechanical means (sandblasting, brushing with metal brushes, etc.) Also, if the surface is too smooth and non-porous, it is necessary to treat it mechanically by roughening it to impart the necessary porosity for better adhesion. Efflorescence and mineral salts must be removed before laying TECMADRY FLEX 2C. Deteriorated areas should be cleaned and repaired in advance.

Preparation method

TECMADRY FLEX 2C is provided in exact proportions of two components. To mix it properly, it is necessary to pour the dry agent into a suitable container and add 75% of the liquid to it, stirring until all small lumps disappear and until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Once you have done this, you can add a little of the rest of the liquid agent, continuing to stir the mixture at slow speed to avoid introducing air. Allow the product to set for about 5 min, then stir it again gently. After this point, the open time of the product is about 30 min., this time can be increased or decreased depending on humidity and air temperature. It is possible to add up to a maximum of 2% of water to the mixture to reduce its viscosity if required.

Application

We recommend a minimum application of two coats, with an average application rate of 1 kg/m2 per coat, allowing an interval of 12-24 h between coats. When applying, follow these instructions:

• Wet the surface by spraying it with clean water
• Apply the first coat of TECMADRY FLEX 2C with water on the entire surface with a special short bristle brush or short bristle roller. On smoother surfaces, it can be applied with a malam.
• Allow the coating to dry for about 6-12 h depending on weather conditions
• Wet this first coat to provide better surface adhesion
• Apply the second coat, making it in a direction transverse to the first
• Repeat the same procedure for each subsequent layer
• For water tanks and pools, wait a minimum of 7-14 days before filling with water

Tools are cleaned only with water before the product has dried. The product should be applied at temperatures of +50C to +300C and it is necessary to protect it from drying too quickly, especially in weather conditions with strong wind or very strong sun. It should also be protected from rain and frost.

• Do not apply when the temperature drops below +5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or cracked surfaces
• Do not wet the wall too much when the temperature is low, always above +5⁰С
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime
• Allow to dry for at least 7-14 days (depending on temperature and relative humidity) before painting or before filling with water in the case of tanks and pools
• TECMADRY FLEX 2C allows other flexible cementitious products to be applied after it on the same basis or on those recommended for non-absorbent surfaces, but it is necessary to make a preliminary test.

Contraindications

• Do not apply the product under negative water pressure
• Do not apply a layer thicker than 2 mm in one application
• Don't assume TECMADRY FLEX 2C together with a thinner (e.g. chlorinated rubber-based pool paint, polyester coatings, etc.)

Cost Norm

For proper waterproofing, the total recommended amount is 2 kg/m2 when applying 2 layers (1 kg/m2 per layer).

TECMADRY FLEX 2C is supplied in overdose packages of 35 kg. (25 kg. dry composition and 10 l. liquid agent). TECMADRY FLEX 2C must be stored in its original containers. Storage time should not exceed 12 months.
