TECMADRY MILLENNIUM Waterproofing with crystallization is recommended to provide a general and durable waterproofing to the concrete and cement mortars to which it is applied. Thus, it achieves excellent waterproofing on multiple substrates: concrete, plaster, cement mortars, concrete block, brick, masonry, etc.

TECMADRY MILLENNIUM is a crystallising waterproofing and, due to its high weather resistance and its good coverage, can be left uncoated without the need to be painted, obtaining the decorative and aesthetic properties of other types of coating. Among the applications it is interesting to note its use for waterproofing of:

• Concrete structures subject to positive or negative water pressure: basements, foundations, elevator shafts, interior or exterior walls, etc.
• Swimming pools, pools, fountains and water tanks
• Several construction activities: canals, dams, bridges, tunnels and galleries, hydrotreatment facilities, etc.
• Waterproofing of walls or floors with increased humidity due to capillarity

Accreditations

Surface Preparation and Application

The substrate shall be rigid and free of any contaminant such as lubricant, oil, residue from scaffold release agents, construction solutions, dust, sand, loose materials, etc. Paint and other waterproofing material residues shall be removed. Crystals and salts shall also be removed prior to application of TECMADRY MILLENNIUM.

Damaged areas should be repaired beforehand with PREMHOR or PREMHOR-R. If water channels are present, they must be closed with the application of PROQUICK after solution of PREMHOR before the application of TECMADRY MILLENNIUM. Before applying the TECMADRY MILLENNIUM on a surface, it must be soaked with water.

Use As Building Solution

Application of waterproofing with crystallization as a building solution

Prepare the required amount of water by adding TECMADRY MILLENNIUMwhile stirring the mixture until it is completely incorporated. As a guide, use between 6 and 7 l. of water for each 25 kg bag of TECMADRY MILLENNIUM .

It is recommended to use a mechanical mixer. Mixing will start with a little water, stirring slowly but continuously. Add water to the homogeneous paste until you get the right consistency, trying to avoid lumps.

It is not recommended to stir too quickly as this will cause a large amount of air to enter, causing pores and holes to appear as it is applied. Allow the mixture to rest afterwards for about 5-10 min to make it easier to set. Mixing durability lasts about 30 min.

The steps to follow for application are:

1. Wet the surface by spraying with clean water
2. Apply the mixture to TECMADRY MILLENNIUM and water with a special short bristle brush, covering the entire surface as a first coat
3. Allow the coating to dry for 6 or 12 h depending on weather conditions
4. Wet the coating to facilitate its settling before applying a second coat
5. Apply a second coat, crosswise, covering the entire surface
6. Wet the coating from time to time to get a homogeneous settling

Application by Sprinkling and Spraying of Crystallising Waterproofing

TECMADRY MILLENNIUM can be used by dry sprinkling (sandwich system) on horizontal surfaces. In this case, on the concrete, which must be perfectly saturated with water, a first coating of the powder product is sprinkled homogeneously in a proportion of approximately 0.75-1.0 kg/m2.

After 1-3 h, pour the fresh concrete, trying not to damage the previous application. After pouring the concrete, when the repair has reached its initial set (to be able to step on top and the mortar to be able to be removed by pouring), sprinkle a second coat of powdered product in a proportion of about 1.0-1.5 kg/m2, and a finishing pour to create a layer with a monolithic coating.

It can be lightly wetted with water while spilling to get better penetration or to prevent the coating from drying out. If only the final coating is applied to the fresh concrete, the consumption should be 1,5-2,5 kg/m2.

It is very important to sprinkle continuously and homogeneously, leaving a sufficient amount of product on the entire surface.

• Do not apply when the temperature drops below +5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or frozen surfaces
• Do not wet the wall too much when the temperature is low, and has not reached +5⁰С
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime
• Allow to dry for at least 7-14 days (depending on temperature and relative humidity) before filling with water or painting
• For tanks that will be in contact with potable water, rinse repeatedly with water before final filling of the tank

Cost Norm

For proper waterproofing and application of crystallizing waterproofing as a mortar on a normally aged concrete surface, the recommended amount is about 0.75-1.0 kg/m² for each coverage. It is recommended to apply 2 coats if there is no high water pressure. With water pressure as with pools, tanks, etc. apply a minimum of 3 coats.

TECMADRY MILLENNIUM is delivered in 25 kg. multilayer bags. TECMADRY MILLENNIUM must be stored in original sealed bags. The storage period in the original bags should not be longer than 12 months.
