Surface preparation

Surfaces shall be cleaned and free from any contaminants such as grease, oil, residue of any concrete release agent, liquid mortar, dust, sand or loose or loosely adhering particles, etc. All paint and residue of any other waterproofing agents shall be removed. Any crystals or mineral salts must be removed before application TECMADRY. Any damaged areas must first be repaired, using the PREMHOR. If there are any leaks, seal them with PROQUICK and then apply a layer of mortar PREMHOR before applying TECMADRY. Before applying TECMADRY on a surface, you must first wet the surface with water.

Instructions for laying cement waterproofing for foundations

Mix TECMADRY with clean water in a suitable container and mix until you get a homogeneous, pasty and liquid consistency. As a guide, use about 6 to 7 l. of water for each bag of TECMADRY. You should always make sure that this paste is free of lumps and as homogeneous as possible. It is recommended to use a mechanical mixer to mix the mass. Let the mixture stand for about 10 min. this will help it to clump better.

Application:

1. Moisten the surface by spraying it with clean water.
2. Apply the mass of TECMADRY and water using a special short bristle brush. Apply the first coat over the entire surface.
3. Allow this coating to dry for approximately 6-12 h depending on the weather.
4. Moisten the coating you have applied to let it set better before applying the second coat.
5. Apply a second coat perpendicular to the first, and cover the entire surface.
6. From time to time, dampen the coating you have applied to make sure it sets evenly.

Special Applications

When you want to reinforce or improve adhesion on certain surfaces, mix TECMADRY in a solution of water and CRYLADIT in proportions of at least one part CRYLADIT for every 3 parts water. Before mixing, dilute CRYLADIT in water and then add this solution to the TECMADRYstirring until you get a smooth mixture. For one bag of TECMADRY will need approximately 5 l. water and 1.5-2 l. CRYLADIT.

• Do not apply when the temperature drops below +5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or frozen surfaces
• Do not wet the wall too much when the temperature is low, and has not reached +5⁰С
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime
• Allow to dry for at least 7-14 days (depending on temperature and relative humidity) before filling with water or painting
• In the case of tanks that are designed for drinking water, rinse with water several times before finally filling the tank

Contraindications

As with any rigid building mortar, do not apply this product to surfaces subject to strong movement. It is best to let the surface set and stabilize for a while before applying TECMADRY cement waterproofing for foundations. It usually takes about 2 months.

Cost Norm

To make sure the surface is properly waterproofed, we recommend using between 1.5 and 2 kg/m². Where pressurised water conditions apply, e.g. in swimming pools, tanks etc., you should use between 3 and 4 kg/m².

TECMADRY is supplied in 25 kg. mesh multi-layer paper bags.

TECMADRY must be stored sealed in the original bags. The expected shelf life in the original bags should not exceed 12 months.
