In general, the use of TECMADRY THERMAL is recommended for energy saving of buildings and facilities:

• As an insulating screed for various waterproofing works, combined with a layer of TECMADRY. Always apply the layer first TECMADRY waiting it to dry 12 h, prime the layer of TECMADRY с CRYLADIT, then put TECMADRY THERMAL up to 60 min. after priming. Never apply in the opposite way TECMADRY via TECMADRY THERMAL or any other screed (consult our Technical Department if necessary)
• In the various waterproofing and facade applications that TECMADRY THERMAL can be applied, then it can be freely painted with some of our facade paints TECMA PAINT SILICATOS, TECMACRIL FACHADAS or even with TECMA PAINT FAHRENHEIT 10.8.
• For thermal and waterproofing of basements, foundations, galleries, walls and especially for breaking the thermal bridge with the external environment and preventing condensation and moisture. To obtain a complete and decorative coating, we recommend the use of TECMA PAINT SILICATOS.

Specific Applications

When you want to improve the mechanical resistance, waterproofness or adhesion of different surfaces, it is advisable to mix TECMADRY THERMAL with 2 parts water and 1 part CRYLADIT. The greater the amount CRYLADIT you add, the more these qualities increase. Before mixing the products, it is mandatory to pre-mix the water with CRYLADIT, then add TECMADRY THERMAL stirring until the mixture is homogeneous. For a 13 kg bag you need to add 4 l. water and 2.0 - 2.5 l. CRYLADIT. It is also possible to improve the adhesion of the product to the substrate with certain primers (contact the Technical Department).

Accreditations

Marked in accordance with EN 998-1 of the European Standards for Construction Products. Designated as mortar for thermal insulation (T) according to EN 998-1.

Surface preparation

The surface must be dry, free of grease, oils, dust, dirt, coatings with poor adhesion to the substrate and any other type of loose particles. Before applying TECMADRY THERMAL to the cement or concrete surface, it is important to moisten it. To improve the adhesion to the substrate, it is a good idea to apply CRYLADIT to the base and then lay TECMADRY THERMAL no later than 60 min. thereafter.

Preparation method

Turn the bag with the mixture face up and down several times to homogenize well. Open the bag and pour it into a suitable container, then add water and stir until the mixture is homogeneous. Amount of water needed per bag TECMADRY THERMAL From 13 kg е 6.0 - 6.5 l (approximately 0.45-0.5 l/kg dry solution). Always check that the mixture is homogeneous and as lump-free as possible. We recommend using an electric mixer. The mixture should be left to rest for at least 5 min. to activate its properties, after which it should be mixed gently once more. The open time is approximately 30 min. depending on the air temperature.

Application

Apply the product with a trowel and squeegee until a smooth and homogeneous surface of the desired thickness is obtained. Allow the product to dry, protecting it from mechanical scratches for the first few days. To improve the final appearance, it is possible to smooth it gently after 24 h of application. In case you want to decorate it with paint, you should wait for the coating to dry for at least 3-7 days depending on the air temperature.

The product has a slow setting and hardening. Protect the coating from mechanical scratches during the first few days.

• Do not apply any solution or coating to the product except as specifically stated in this data sheet (consult technical department).
• Do not apply at temperatures below +50C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h after application.
• Do not apply to frozen or cracked surfaces
• Do not wet the wall excessively when temperatures are low - just above +50C
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime

Cost Norm

When properly laid, the cost rate is about 0.5 - 0.6 kg/m2 at a minimum of 4-5 mm layer thickness. The maximum thickness of a layer can reach up to 10 mm.

TECMADRY THERMAL is delivered in 13 kg mesh bags. The product must be stored in the original bags provided. Storage time should not exceed 1 year.
