TECMADRY R.P.A. is particularly recommended:

• As a waterproofing and protective coating for facades made with polystyrene foam panels.
• In many applications including waterproofing and facade protection. Due to its high resistance to external conditions and its unparalleled finish, it can be applied and left as is - no need to paint over it. It allows the aesthetic and decorative properties of other surfaces to show through.
• For levelling, waterproofing and protection of many construction works: tunnels, irrigation canals, silos, tragers, and piers at bridges, dams, hydro treatment facilities, etc.
• Waterproofing and protection of basements and foundations, balconies, walls, etc.

Surface preparation

Surfaces shall be clean and free of contaminants such as grease, oil, or residue from concrete release agents, construction solutions, dust, sand, or any loose or poorly adhering material, etc. Before applying TECMADRY R.P.A. waterproofing putty to mortar and concrete surfaces should first moisten them with water.

Instructions when laying

Mix TECMADRY R.P.A. with clean water in a suitable container and stir it until you get a homogeneous, pasty liquid consistency. As a guide, use about 6 to 4.5 l. of water for each bag of TECMADRY R.P.A.. You should always make sure that this paste is free of lumps and as homogeneous as possible. It is recommended to use a mechanical mixer to mix the mass. Allow the mixture to stand for about 5 min. as this will help it set better.

Application:

1. Apply the product with a trowel. Use an average of about 1.6-1.8 kg/m2 and mm thickness (3.4-8.5 kg/m2 to get a thickness of 2-5 mm).
2. For the top coat, smooth the product with a trowel or rasp.
3. If the final finish involves decorating it with paint, let it sit for at least 7-14 days, depending on the weather, before painting it with TECMA PAINT SILICATOS.

Application of the Product to Polystyrene Foam Sheets

The surface to be coated must be clean and free from contaminants (dust, grease, loose materials, etc.) When applying the product to sheets of polystyrene foam, they must be properly attached to avoid any movement while the mortar is still dry.

Special Applications

When you want to strengthen the adhesion to certain surfaces, mix TECMADRY R.P.A. with a solution of water and CRYLADIT in the proportion of 3 parts water and 1 part CRYLADIT. Before mixing, dilute CRYLADIT in water and then add this solution to the TECMADRY R.P.A.., stirring until you get a smooth mixture. For one 25 kg. bag TECMADRY R.P.A. will need approximately 3 l. water and 1-1.5 l. CRYLADIT.

• Do not apply when the temperature drops below +5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or frozen surfaces
• Do not wet the wall too much when the temperature is low, and has not reached +5⁰С
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime

Consumption Norm of waterproofing putty TECMA R.P.A

For proper application, we recommend using between 1.6 and 1.8 kg/m2 and mm thickness.

TECMADRY R.P.A. is supplied in 25 kg. mesh multi-layer paper bags.

TECMADRY R.P.A must be stored sealed in the original bags. The expected shelf life in the original bags should not exceed 12 months.
