TECMADRY ELAST is a resilient waterproofing that is specifically recommended:

• When waterproofing and protecting substrates with cracks, or which may be subject to movement. Due to its strong resistance to abrasion and its final application, it can be left in the condition it is in without the need to apply paint on top, achieving the aesthetic and decorative properties of other coatings.
• For the protection or waterproofing of construction works: tunnels, drainage channels, silos, beams and piers at bridges, dams, water treatment facilities, etc.
• For the waterproofing and protection of basements and foundations, galleries, walls, etc., which always work with direct pressure
• For waterproofing and protection of salt water tanks
• In the protection of concrete structures against carbonation, due to its high resistance to the spread of carbon dioxide
• In the protection of concrete structures against corrosion due to chlorine, especially in aggressive environments (coastal areas, etc.) due to its high resistance to chlorine penetration
• When protecting concrete against aggressive environments: sulphate waters, salt waters, contaminated environments, etc. due to its strong density to contaminating gases and ions.
• When protecting concrete against a series of freeze/thaw events.

Accreditations

Product with European CE marking: product that complies with European Standard EN 1504-2 and Directive 89/106/EEC on construction products. TECMADRY ELAST is recommended for use in contact with drinking water according to Migration Report No. 6063 from the Official Joaquin Riera Tuebols Laboratory (O.T.E.C)

Surface preparation

The surface to which the product is to be applied shall be hard and free of any lubricant, oil, paint and/or residue of concrete release agents, liquid mortar, loose materials, sand, dust or any other contaminant.

It is recommended to properly prepare the surface prior to the application of our resilient waterproofing, recommended by using mechanical means (sandblasting, strong brushing, etc.). If the surfaces are too smooth and/or slightly pebbly, they should also be treated by mechanical means to obtain a suitable roughness and pebbliness. Crystals and mineral salts should be removed before applying TECMADRY ELAST. Damaged areas must first be repaired with PREMHOR.

Application

It is recommended to apply at least two coats of approximately 1-1.2 kg/m2, allowing a period of 12-24 h between coats. When applying, follow the steps below:

1. Wet the surface by spraying it with clean water
2. Apply the first coat of TECMADRY ELAST on the entire surface with a special short bristle brush or roller. When applying on smooth surfaces it is possible to use a trowel.
3. Allow the coating to dry for approximately 12-24 h depending on weather conditions
4. Wet this first coat and apply a second coat TECMADRY ELAST over the first one, thus ensuring full coverage and let dry again.
5. Follow the same steps in case you are applying a third coating
6. Allow about 7-14 days before filling with water, depending on weather conditions
7. For tanks that will be in contact with potable water, rinse repeatedly with water before final filling.

Tools should only be cleaned with water before the product has dried. The product should be applied at temperatures between +50⁰C and +300⁰C, as the application is protected against drying very quickly, especially when the application is subjected to strong winds or strong sunlight. It should also be protected against rain and frost.

• Do not apply when the temperature drops below +5⁰C or if freezing is expected in the next 24 h
• Do not apply to frozen or frozen surfaces
• Do not wet the wall too much when the temperature is low, and has not reached +5⁰С
• Do not apply to plaster, paint or lime
• Allow to dry for at least 7-14 days (depending on temperature and relative humidity) before filling with water
• For tanks that will be in contact with potable water, rinse repeatedly with water before final filling of the tank

The product allows for subsequent application of flexible cement based products or products recommended for non-absorbent substrates, although it is recommended that prior testing be carried out for this.

Contraindications

The product should not be applied with water under pressure. On TECMADRY ELAST do not apply solvent-based coatings (e.g. chlorinated rubber pool paint)

Cost Norm

For proper waterproofing, the recommended amount is about 1.0-1.2 kg/m2 for each coating. A minimum of 2 coats is recommended.

TECMADRY R.P.A. is supplied in 25 kg. mesh multi-layer paper bags.

TECMADRY R.P.A must be stored sealed in the original bags. The expected shelf life in the original bags should not exceed 12 months.
